Privacy Policy

This policy covers Fair Price Apps and the Tip Trapper app (a tip tracker for servers and bartenders). It matches what we report on the Apple App Store: data is not collected. When the Android version comes to Google Play, we will report the same thing there.

What we collect

We collect nothing. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs in Tip Trapper or on this website.

Tip Trapper

All shift and tip data is stored on your device. That includes cash tips, card tips, hours, any IOUs you save (who owes whom and how much), and any coworker first names you save for each restaurant. It only goes somewhere else if you choose to save a copy, as described below. We never see it. We do not run a server that receives this data, and the app does not send it to us.

On Split & IOUs you can save coworker names for each restaurant. Only the names are saved, never what anyone made or took from the pot. Those names and your IOUs stay on your phone and are never sent to us. They are included in the automatic backups on your phone and in any copy you save with Save a copy, so a restore brings them back. They are never put in CSV, PDF, or tax summary exports. The split calculator itself is never saved.

If you use Import from another app, the file you pick is read on your phone. It is never uploaded or sent to us. The shifts you import are saved on your phone like the ones you log yourself, and you can undo an import in Settings.

Tip Trapper has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking.

Backups and exports

Tip Trapper saves backup files on your phone. Your phone's own iCloud or Google backup may include them, and you can choose to save a copy anywhere you like, such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or email. None of it is sent to us, and we cannot open it.

Exports (spreadsheet or PDF) are files created on your device. You decide where they go. We do not receive them.

Children

No data from children is collected. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Deleting the app

Deleting the app deletes its data from the device. Any copies you saved somewhere else, or that are in your phone's iCloud or Google backup, stay there until you delete them. There is no account with us and no server copy, because we never had your data.

This website

This website uses no cookies and no analytics. It does not use advertising, tracking, or third-party scripts. Visiting it does not create an account or a profile.

Purchases

Tip Trapper is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Payment is handled by the Apple App Store (and Google Play once the Android version is out), not by us. We do not receive your card number.

For Apple’s App Privacy details, and Google Play’s Data safety form once the Android version is out, the accurate answer for Tip Trapper is that data is not collected. No data is linked to you, and no data is used to track you.

Changes to this policy will be posted on this page. When we change it, we will update the effective date at the top.
